TALES FOR TOTS
Tales for Tots, an initiative of Normanhurst Uniting Church commenced at the beginning of 2012 and offers an excellent opportunity for children (0-5) to gather with their parent, grandparents and carers for two hours every Tuesday during school term,
to play, learn and socialise.
The play group is open to all in the community and those adults attending are asked for a $2.00 donation to help buy more toys and equipment for the group.
Organisers include early childhood educators as well as a dietitian.
When asked describe themselves they say "We are a friendly and welcoming group,” so why not come (with your tiny tot) and try them out.
The group offers planned activities to stimulate play and development– through modelling with dough, craft activities, construction materials, water play and learning gross motor skills by catching and throwing balls.
The aim is to encourage young children to develop a love of books and share ideas through book time, singing and music time. The group gives children the opportunity to learn to socialise with other children through play and for those children who have English as a second language (ESL) the chance to learn English through interacting with other children.
Time together with parents, grandparents and carers enables them to interact with each other, form friendships and compare notes on parenting. If you want to find out more or chat to Ruth (the organiser) call her on 0421 277 259 .
